Following today's announcement by Allied Healthcare, Somerset County Council can confirm it has arrangements in place to make sure support continues uninterrupted.
In light of concerns about its long-term viability, the Council has had contingency plans in place and an agreement for Somerset Care, our largest care provider, to take on all the support currently provided by Allied.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a chimney fire at the above location.
On arrival the incident commander confirmed a chimney fire at this property. The crew removed the logs from the fire and began using chimney rods from the hearth to extinguish the fire. The crew got to work using the thermal imaging camera to investigate any hot spots and fire spread.

A fire appliance from Burnham On Sea was mobilised following a call reporting a van on fire at the above location. Our crew used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the van, before making the vehicle and scene safe.
POPPY petals cascading from high above the nave of Wells Cathedral will be one of the ways in which the city will mark Remembrance Day this year.
People will be able to write messages on the petals before they are released during the Cathedral's Remembrance Requiem service on November 11.
