The A371 is closed between Wells and Cheddar after a burst water main made a hole in the road.
The road will be shut for the rest of today (November 10) and tomorrow between Westbury-sub-Mendip and Easton.

A student from the Blue School in Wells has won her age group in the competition to design the company Christmas card for Glastonbury building contractors Melhuish and Saunders.
Student Eva took first prize in the category for youngsters aged between 11 and 16, and she has won a £25 shopping voucher for herself, and a £50 voucher for the school to spend on essential items.

A mum and daughter duo are planning to walk 117 miles around the boundary of the Mendip district to raise money for a charity that helps people living in a drought-stricken area of Kenya.
Emma Aitken and her 12-year-old daughter Annabel plan to walk the Mendip Ring over six days of the Easter holidays, and will be raising money for St Peter's Life-Line.
