The weekend is almost upon us, so it's time for a round-up of all the events occurring in your area over the weekend and into the coming week as the Easter school holiday gets underway.
But remember: this is just a few of the events that have caught our attention - there's loads more going on out there in your community.

Somerstock is a family-friendly music festival in the heart of Somerset. 2023 sees the introduction of a Friday night of music on the 7th July, before a full day of bands and family fun on Saturday 8th July. The festival site is on the edge of Somerton, with on-site parking and camping available.
Easter at the Bishop's Palace
Little people will be busy at The Bishop's Palace in Wells this Easter, with a range of family-friendly activities taking place over the school holidays.
The Easter Holiday fun kicks off with the 'Let's Bug Out' Trail (1st-14th April) where intrepid explorers will explore the 14 acres of stunning gardens in search of bugs and creepy crawlies!
Trails can be collected from the Palace's Ticket Office with a special prize upon completion!
Storytelling
Storyteller Beth Webb will tell you how a lonely bug with six skinny legs and wiggly things on his head found true love. Come on, let's crawl, to The Ugly Bug Ball at the Bishop's Palace on April 4th and 11th. There'll be colouring and poetry-writing too!
Family Crafting

Get growing this Easter holidays and join our outdoor family activity in the Community Garden. Sow your own sunflower seed to take home, make a plant label and try our 'Guess the Seed' quiz.
The 14 acres of Gardens will be open daily throughout the Easter Holidays (9.30am-5.30pm) and the Dragon's Lair Play Area is the perfect place to exercise little legs –There's also a choice of drinks and snacks at The Bishop's Table café, which is open daily, serving child-friendly menus alongside cakes and hot drinks for grown ups too!
Writing competitions - Wells Festival of Literature
April Fools Day marks the opening for entries to this year's Wells Festival of Literature international competitions. Standards are high, prizes are generous and entries arrive in their hundreds from across the world.
So pick up your pens and release your inner artist - weave the warp and weft of your words and enter the Wells Festival of Literature's competitions. The closing date is midnight on 30 June 2023.
Wells Cathedral
A full-size copy of the world-famous Shroud of Turin has arrived at Wells Cathedral as part of an exhibition telling the crucifixion story.
The exhibition includes a beautiful 15-foot replica image which is a photograph printed onto cotton by an American photographer, Barrie Schwortz, who was the official photographer at the STuRP (Shroud of Turin Research Project) examination of the Shroud in 1978
You can also celebrate Easter at the Cathedral with craft workshops, and follow our self-guided trail, or visit the Shroud of Turin Exhibition during the holidays.
