Wells Dementia Action Alliance donates hundreds of pounds to mental health charities in the city

By Guest 16th Jul 2021

Parties are part of Christmas and two Wells mental health charities were each given £200 for theirs by the Wells Dementia Action Alliance.

The cash certainly helped the festivities go with a swing.

"A brilliant time was had by all," said Maggie Charlesworth, manager of The Lawrence Centre which is based next to the Union Street car park entrance.

"We enjoyed singing, dancing, party games and had lots of fun."

At Heads Up in South Horrington almost all the large spread of food was prepared by one of the charity's trustees, Carolle Skeates, a mental health nurse specialising in patients who experience long-term mental health problems.

"How would be manage without Carolle?," asked manager Bridget Harvey.
