Wells will be bursting into bloom again this summer.

It's time to get out the gardening gloves and get pruning, weeding and planting, as the Wells in Bloom Gardens Competition will be running again this year.

Wells City Councillor Denise Denis said, "Wells in Bloom volunteers will be out and about between July 11-22, judging gardens within the Wells city boundary for the first time in three years.

"The pandemic halted everything but certainly didn't stop us gardening, so here is our opportunity to show what we have been up to. We want to encourage gardening and environmental interests throughout the city, and across the generations.

"If you have a lovely garden, back or front, or even a courtyard/patio and would like to enter please contact me on email: [email protected], or collect an application form from Wells Town Hall, Library or Whitings. The deadline for entries is May 31."
