In a recent Which? survey, Wells has emerged as the UK's most cherished destination.
Gaining this recognition from a poll of 9,000 Which? members, the city stood out for its scenic beauty, culinary offerings, tranquility, tourist sites, and value for money.
Wells garnered an 83% approval rating, narrowly edging out Avebury in Wiltshire (82%) and Corfe Castle in Dorset (80%). The Somerset locale has often graced the big and small screen, featuring in productions such as Hot Fuzz, Dungeons and Dragons, and Wolf Hall.
Wells earned a full five-star rating for its tourist attractions and overall appeal and four stars for its shopping, natural beauty, and food and drink offerings.
Rory Boland, Editor of Which? Travel said: "While the picturesque South West took the top spots, there are beautiful towns and villages in Scotland, Wales and from across England in the top ten - meaning there is a fantastic place to visit on your doorstep no matter where you live."
