Wells voters to choose new St Thomas councillor
By Laura Linham 24th Apr 2026
Voters in Wells will go to the polls next month to choose a new city councillor for St Thomas' ward.
A poll will be held on Thursday, 7 May 2026, with polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.
One councillor will be elected to represent the ward on Wells City Council.
The statement of persons nominated, published by Somerset Council's returning officer, confirms four candidates are standing.
They are Kat Kinshaw for the Liberal Democrats, Bernard Keith George Mealing as an Independent, Jamie Mochrie for the Green Party, and Greg Stone for Reform UK.
The election gives St Thomas' residents a chance to decide who will speak for their part of the city on local matters.
City councillors deal with issues close to everyday life in Wells, from community facilities and public spaces to local events and the concerns residents raise in their ward.
