More than 60 volunteers helped clean up parts of Wells during a community spring litter pick organised by Wells City Council.

The clean-up took place on Sunday, 22 February, with councillor Deborah Orrett helping lead the effort.

Volunteers collected rubbish from several areas around the city, with some unusual items also pulled from the stream next to the Lidl store.

According to Wells City Council, participants managed to remove both a shopping trolley and a tyre from the water during the clean-up.

The council thanked everyone who took part, saying the area is now "looking much better" thanks to the efforts of local residents.

More than 60 people were involved in the event, which the council described as an "amazing job" by volunteers.
