Wells' fire-damaged Tramways Club will reopen its bar over Christmas for the first time since the 2024 blaze — and members will get their first chance to meet the club's new bar manager.

The committee confirmed the venue will be open for drinks on:

  • Christmas Eve (5pm–9pm)
  • Christmas Day (11.30am–1.30pm)
  • Boxing Day (2pm–8pm, bar and jukebox only)

In a message to members, the club said: "We are looking forward to welcoming members, old and new, to our fantastic refurbished club — please come in to say hello, have a look around and treat yourself to a Christmas drink."

New bar manager Jacqui will be behind the bar from Christmas Eve, and members from the 2023/24 period will have their membership honoured until August 2026. New sign-ups are also welcome.

The club also reminded members there will be no entertainment on Boxing Day — just a relaxed bar service and free jukebox.

The Tramways rebuild has taken more than a year, after fire tore through the building in April 2024, gutting the bar and damaging the roof.
