The Wells Theatre Festival, renowned for its engaging performances, is set to raise funds in a unique way this year.

Illustrator and animator Gary Andrews, known on social media as @garyscribbler, has donated a striking poster for the festival's upcoming production of Macbeth, scheduled from 20-23 June at the Bishop's Barn.

The festival's tradition of auctioning posters signed by its patron, Dame Judi Dench, will continue, with this year's Macbeth poster set to support a noble cause. In a heartfelt gesture, 50% of the auction proceeds will be donated to the UK Sepsis Trust, an organisation dedicated to combating sepsis, following the tragic loss of Andrews' wife Joy to the condition in 2017.

Andrews, whose work gained prominence through his emotive daily doodles depicting his journey through grief, remains a staunch advocate for sepsis awareness.

Ros Johnson, Artistic Director of the Wells Theatre Festival, expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for the upcoming production: "We are so grateful to our friend Gary for creating this wonderful poster for us. We are very excited about our production of Macbeth which is well into rehearsal now and we can promise a spell-binding evening, exploring witchcraft, prophecy and murder in the Bishop's Barn."
