Draycott Community Cinema is set to offer a unique cinematic event on Saturday, May 11, with a special screening of the 2020 film 'Dream Horse'. The screening will include a Q&A session with the director, Euros Lyn, and a memorabilia auction.

'Dream Horse', directed by Euros Lyn from a screenplay by Neil McKay, stars Toni Collette, Damian Lewis, and Owen Teale.

The film is a heartwarming tale based on the true story of Dream Alliance, an unlikely racehorse bred by Jan Vokes, a Welsh barmaid. With no experience and limited resources, she convinces her neighbours to fund Dream's training, ultimately seeing him compete in the Welsh Grand National.

Euros Lyn, born in 1971 in Cardiff, has a distinguished career, best known for his work on high-profile TV shows such as 'Doctor Who', 'Sherlock', and 'Black Mirror'. His directorial skills have earned him multiple BAFTA Cymru awards, including Best Director. Lyn's ability to convey profound human stories on screen is evident in 'Dream Horse', which has resonated with audiences worldwide for its portrayal of determination and community spirit.

The connection to the local community is highlighted by Stevie Haywood, a committee member of the cinema and the sound mixer for the film, who won the 2022 Welsh BAFTA for Sound. Haywood's involvement has been pivotal in bringing this event to life, including persuading Lyn and other crew members to participate.

This special screening offers an intimate look at the making of 'Dream Horse' and a chance to engage with Euros Lyn, a leading figure in contemporary filmmaking - and tickets are available now for what promises to be a memorable evening for film enthusiasts and the local community alike.
