Wells Tesco applies to put up external LCD screen and flag pole signs

Tesco in Wells is planning on installing an external LCD media screen and three flag pole signs.

A planning application has been submitted by Mr Andy Horwood for a 42-inch LCD media screen and three 1,250mm x 700mm flag pole signs, with an overall height of 2,450mm at the supermarket in Tucker Street.

Other planning applications submitted in the Wells area this week include:

Installation of septic tank; retrospective permission for the erection of a reception and office building; erection of a facilities building; erection of 10 kennels; and use of fields for exercising dogs (submission of revised location plan received November 8) at Shamrock Stables, Lynch Lane, Westbury-sub-Mendip, has been applied for by Miss Rosemary Peacock.

Work to trees under a preservation order T1, T2, T4 and T5 - Hazel Stool - to be coppiced due to being overgrown; T3 - Alder - Fell as rotten (allow to reshoot if not too diseased) T6 - Mature Field Maple - Year 1 - Lift crown by 20 per cent; Year 2 - fell if still excessive shading; T7 - Alder - Fell as too close to T6 at Spring Villa, Litton Lane, Litton, is wanted by Mr Ben Pritchard.

Re-configuration of an existing gable end store with dual pitched roof to create a snug at ground floor and an en-suite at first floor and associated works at Honeysuckle Cottage, Woodford Road, Woodford, near Wells, has been applied for by Mr Chris Donoghue.

Proposed extension to, alterations and conversion of an attached outbuilding to provide two additional bedrooms to Burcott Farm annexe at Burcott Farm, Burcott Lane, Burcott, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Randle.

Temporary retention of existing site structures in advance of residential development on land at Wells Road, Yarley, has been applied for by Mr J Drake.

New garden room to replace existing conservatory on the front elevation at Pitts Farm, Chilcote Lane, Chilcote, is wanted by Mr John Jones.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (flood risk assessment) and 5 (flood warning evacuation plan) on planning consent building consent 2019/1676/FUL at 5 Priory Road, Wells, has been made by Ms Myatt.

Application for hedgerow removal for Bristol Water to renovate approximately 2.4km of mains pipeline between Hill Farm Road in Priddy and Back Lane in Litton, to enable construction vehicle access at Hill Farm Road, Priddy, has been made by Mr Nick Spellissy.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (joinery and paint details), on planning consent 2018/2205/HSE at Free Hill House, Free Hill, Westbury-sub-Mendip, has been made by Mr Andrew Buchanan.

Proposed fire damage reinstatement and refurbishment at 26 Chamberlain Street, Wells, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs R Powell.

An application for roof tiles - red clay double roman tile from Marley external wall - mixed local stone sourced from Lovell's Quarry, rough square preferred; pointing - two parts equal sand and dust with one part lime; flush face pointing with a brush finish at Mendip Shooting Ground, Haydon Drove, Haydon, has been made by Vernon Hill.

An application for a non-material amendment to permission 2018/1875/FUL for the full height glazed panels between English Oak posts at The Spinning Wheel Cafe, Guard House Lane, Wells, has been submitted by Mr and Mrs J Cyrek.

Planning applications in the Wells area that have been decided this week include:

Replacement of shopfronts to numbers 11 and 13 and the redecoration of the existing shopfront to rear at 9-13 High Street, Wells, by Mr Bob Burton has been approved.

Discharge of condition 3 (materials) and condition 7 (access road) on planning permission 2018/2744/REM on land at Crossways Lane, North Wootton, has been approved.

An application to remove conditions 2 (new external joinery), 4 (rainwater goods), 5 (external joinery painting/treatment), 10 (no new openings) and 11 (no further alterations) of planning approval 076619/020 (erection of two detached dwellings) (Amended description and revised elevation plan) at East Lodge, Station Road, Westbury-sub-Mendip, by Mr Ray has been withdrawn.

An application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (external joinery) on planning consent 2017/1643/FUL at Wells United Church, Union Street, Wells, by Wells United Church has been approved.

An application to vary condition 2 (drawings) of planning approval 2017/0882/FUL (Change from a flat roof to a hipped and tiled roof with rear dormer) to allow change of roof form to gable ended roof (description amended September 16) at Worth House Hotel, Wells Road, Worth, by Ms Sarah Kenyon has been approved.

Proposed single storey rear extension and loft conversion at 6 New Square, South Horrington, by Mrs Jackie Payne has been approved.

Erection of natural stone wall on east boundary (retrospective) at 6 North Road, Wells, by Mr and Mrs Delbridge has been approved.

Proposed dropped kerb and creation of off-road parking at 17 Bignal Rand Drive, Wells, by Mr Steve Richards has been approved.

Proposed reconfiguration of existing dwelling including single and double storey extensions at 49 Portway, Wells, by Mr and Mrs Stevens has been approved.

Proposed first floor rear extension over existing sun room at 6 Harters Close, Coxley, by Mr T Wadman has been approved.

Two storey side extension at Toli Cottage, Polsham Lane, Polsham, by Mr C Bradbury has been approved.

An application to vary condition 2 (plans list) of planning approval 2018/2605/HSE at 4 Chewton Cottages, Mendip End, Lower Street, Chewton Mendip, by Mr Andrew Miles has been approved.

Proposed repairs to bridge leading to front door at 19 New Street, Wells, by Nigel Findley have been approved.

An application for approval of details reserved by conditions 5 (tree protection plan), 8 (Natural England licence), and 9 (construction environmental management plan) on planning consent 2019/1026/FUL on land at Paradise Lane, Croscombe, by Mr Sell has been approved.
