Wells’ Sheep & Penguin reaches regional tourism awards final
By Laura Linham 12th Oct 2026
The Sheep & Penguin in Wells has been shortlisted for a regional tourism award recognising its accommodation.
The family-run pub on Tucker Street is a finalist for B&B and Guesthouse of the Year at the 2026 Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucestershire Tourism Awards.
The team will find out the result at a ceremony at Batch Country House in Lympsham on Thursday, 26 November.
The Sheep & Penguin combines a community pub and food service with overnight accommodation, offering guest rooms and mews houses.
Its place in the final puts the Wells business alongside Bossington Hall in Allerford, The George Inn in Norton St Philip, The Litton near Radstock and The Swan Inn in Winscombe.
The awards recognise businesses across the region's tourism and hospitality sector, with categories covering accommodation, visitor attractions, food and drink, and experiences.
More than 80 finalists are included in this year's awards, with gold, silver, bronze and special awards to be announced at the November ceremony.
The Sheep & Penguin's nomination is specifically for its accommodation, rather than the separate Pub of the Year category.
Further information about the business is available on The Sheep & Penguin website.
