There are going to be temporary traffic lights on the A39 at Mountery Road in Wells next week.

The multi-way lights will be in place from Monday to Wednesday October 14 to 16, so that two manhole covers can be replaced.

Other roadworks taking place in Wells this week include:

On Saturday October 19, scaffolding is due to go up at the closed Mermaid Inn, at Tucker Street, and there is a permit in place to allow it to stay there for a month.

From Sunday October 20, give and take traffic control will be in place for five days in Southover, to enable Wales and West Utilities to lay a new gas service.

Also, Wessex Water's work to repair a sewer in Wookey Hole Road, outside of Regency Court, is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday.
