Temporary traffic lights are scheduled to be in place in Wells next week, as roadworks crews step up their return to work following the easing of the coronavirus lockdown.

The multi-way lights are due to be in action from Tuesday (May 19) to May 26 at the junction of Bath Road and Hawkers Lane.

The lights are being used to enable Truespeed to lay a duct and build a cabinet for their fibre broadband network.

Truespeed's other scheduled work in Priory Road near to the Quarter Jack pub to clear a cable is due to be completed by Wednesday (May 20).

Also, the company's scheduled temporary traffic lights on the B3139 Elm Close for similar work are due to be in use until May 26.

Truespeed should also be laying a power connection between the Western Power Distribution pole and their cabinet between Portway and Charter Way from Tuesday to Thursday (May 21).

The only non-Truespeed work that is scheduled in Wells next week is scaffolding being put up for a month outside 10 Sadler Street from Monday (May 18) and outside of 5 Priory Road from Thursday.
