The Somerset Council is reminding residents of Wells that waste collection schedules will be altered due to the May bank holidays.

The changes will affect collections during the weeks starting on Monday, 6 May, and Monday, 27 May.

Collections for recycling, refuse, and garden waste will take place a day later than the usual schedule. For example, waste typically collected on Monday will now be picked up on Tuesday, and the pattern will continue throughout the week.

Residents should note that collections planned for Friday, 10 May, and Friday, 31 May, will instead occur on Saturday, 11 May, and Saturday, 1 June.

The council advises residents to help reduce waste volume by compressing and flattening trash, which helps the collection teams make fewer trips.

The 16 local recycling sites will operate as usual over the weekends and on bank holiday Mondays, from 9am to 6pm. For full details on opening times and recycling options, please check www.somerset.gov.uk/recycling-collections.
