Wells has been named among the most stylish places to live in the UK, according to a recent survey by online furniture business Furniturebox.

The historic city secured the 27th spot in the list of the country's top 60 stylish places, sitting between Kings Lynn at 26 and Biddestone at 28.

The list was topped by Grassington in North Yorkshire, which took the number one position.

To compile the rankings, Furniturebox polled over 5,000 people across the UK, asking them to identify the most stylish places to live. Respondents were asked to consider factors such as the beauty of the buildings, stunning scenery, the "Instagrammability" of the location, and its popularity with artists and filmmakers.

Furniturebox explained their ranking criteria on their website, stating, "Design is our 'thing' and we love seeing how regular folks turn their houses into dream homes. But bigger spaces and communities intrigue us too. What makes a village, a town or a city a stylish place to live?"

The company further elaborated, "'Style' is about aesthetics, or how things look and feel; a pleasing appearance creating a sense of effortless harmony. Stylish places are the places people want to visit or to live. Filmmakers, artists, tourists, and residents want to share these places because they just look so good."
