The Wells community is preparing to honour the fallen in two Remembrance services this November.

The Wells Branch of the Royal British Legion has announced a series of events to mark this solemn occasion.

First on the calendar is a short Remembrance service at the Conduit in Market Square. Scheduled for Saturday, November 11, the service will begin at 10.45am and all are welcome to attend.

Additionally, a civic ceremony will be held on the following day, Sunday, November 12. The ceremony will start at St Cuthbert's Church and will be followed by a two-minute silence at the war memorial at 11am. A wreath-laying ceremony will then take place, before a parade marches up High Street. The Mayor will be present to take the parade salute, as is tradition.

The procession will then continue to the Harry Patch Memorial, located outside the Wells & Mendip Museum, for another wreath-laying ceremony.

These events offer the Wells community a chance to come together to pay respects and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom. With the Royal British Legion Wells Branch organising these ceremonies, they are sure to be poignant and respectful occasions.
