Officers and PCSOs will carry out high-visibility patrols in the city centre during the festive period.

Police will carry out high-visibility patrols on Wells High Street and across the surrounding town centre throughout the Christmas period.

The Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team said officers and PCSOs would be on hand as visitor numbers increase for seasonal shopping and festive events.

The patrols will aim to deter crime and anti-social behaviour, provide reassurance, engage with businesses and members of the public, and respond to concerns raised by the community.

Residents, shoppers and visitors are encouraged to speak to officers during patrols about any local issues or policing concerns.

The plan was agreed on 31 October and updated the same day.
