Police are trying to trace a man after an assault in Wells left the victim with a fractured eye socket.
The attack happened in Priory Road at around 12.55am on Wednesday, May 3, after the victim had left a pub.
Avon and Somerset Police have issued a CCTV image of a person they believe may have information which could help their enquiries.
A police spokesperson said: "A man reported being punched in an unprovoked attack after leaving a pub on Priory Road at around 12.55am on Wednesday, May 3.
"The victim, a man in his early 30s, fell to the ground and suffered a black eye and a fractured eye socket and was taken to hospital for treatment.
"He has since been discharged to continue his recovery at home, and he has been offered access to any specialist support services he feels he may benefit from."
Officers say they want to speak to the man pictured because they believe he may have information which could assist the investigation.
The man is described as white, in his thirties, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of stocky build.
Police said he has short dark hair, a receding hairline and a thin moustache.
He was wearing a pink Hawaiian shirt, shorts and black sliders.
Officers have taken an account from the victim and carried out CCTV and house-to-house enquiries.
PC Peter Coakes, the officer in the case, said: "This was an awful incident in which the victim suffered injuries, and we are appealing to anybody with information on the identity of the man in the picture to come forward and assist with our enquiries.
"We understand incidents like this can cause concern in our communities, but we can assure residents this is not indicative of a wider issue in the area."
Anyone who recognises the person pictured, or has information about the assault, should contact police on 101, quoting reference 5226122708.
Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
