Residents at Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells, Somerset, recently enjoyed a lively and uplifting pom-pom exercise and dance class led by Tina Smith Blackwill, better known as "The Pom-Pom Lady."

Based in Wells, Somerset, Tina is renowned across the South West for her inclusive seated and standing dance sessions, which bring together music, movement, and plenty of fun. A former Dragons' Den contestant, she is passionate about helping older people stay active and engaged through gentle exercise and dance.

The session was extremely well attended, with residents from across the home joining in enthusiastically. Armed with colourful pom-poms and accompanied by upbeat music, participants took part throughout the entire session, enjoying a full workout while sharing plenty of smiles and laughter.

The visit concluded with Tina's spectacular illuminated butterfly wings display, creating a magical finale that delighted residents and provided a wonderful opportunity for photographs and memories.

Darius Ivana, General Manager at Crandon Springs Care Home, said: "We were delighted to welcome Tina to our home. The session was a fantastic success, with residents fully engaged from start to finish. It was wonderful to see so many people taking part, having fun together while exercising. Activities like these are so important to both physical wellbeing and social connection, supporting mobility, coordination, confidence, and mental wellbeing. The feedback from residents has been really positive."

Among those taking part was resident Janet, who embraced the session with enthusiasm and commitment, saying: "I used to dance when I was younger. I really enjoyed the pom-pom workout. It was good to try something new and different."
