Wells has been crowned the UK's premier destination for those seeking a log cabin getaway complete with a hot tub, a new study by Slingo reveals.

The city also secured the 10th spot on the list of most relaxing getaways, surpassing cities such as Manchester, Brighton and Edinburgh.

This accolade places Wells at the heart of the country's most relaxing retreats, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The study delved into various factors to determine the UK's most serene escapes, including spa visits, massage experiences, and nature retreats.

Slingo's research aimed to uncover the ultimate destinations for unwinding, recharging, and reconnecting with nature.

A spokesperson for Slingo said: "Wells in Somerset is the best place to visit if you want a luxury stay in nature. Within 15 miles of the city, you can find 42 log cabins with hot tubs.

"Chapterhouse is a luxury outdoor cabin with a fenced yard and private wood-fired hot tub, while Bramley Apple Tree Glamping offers a similar experience to vacation-goers."

This recognition comes from a comprehensive analysis, including the availability of spas, wellness centres, massage parlours, and five-star accommodations, in addition to tree canopy cover and an overall relaxation score.

Wells' position on the list, surpassing cities like Manchester, Brighton, and Edinburgh, underscores its appeal as a leading choice for a peaceful getaway.

The full research can be found on the Slingo website.
