Wells Market participated in the 'Love Your Local Market' campaign, which ran nationally from 17 May to 1 June 2024.

This initiative, led by the National Association of British Market Authorities, aimed to highlight the importance of traditional markets in supporting local economies.

Wells Market, under the LYLM banner, became a focal point for community engagement, showcasing a variety of local vendors who contribute to the city's atmosphere.

The campaign drew attention to how markets serve as critical venues for local entrepreneurs to thrive, fostering job creation and promoting regional products which attract both residents and tourists alike.

The variety of traders featured, and the quality of products on offer, is not only a reminder that these markets are a great place to go shopping, but also highlights their importance to the local economy and their contribution to daily life.

The Love Your Local Market (LYLM) campaign celebrates the vital role our brilliant local markets play in our communities, offering:

  • a unique shopping experience
  • supporting local businesses
  • fostering community spirit
  • finding fantastic produce

With over 160 traders participating across Mendip Markets, visitors enjoyed a wide array of products from farm-fresh produce to handmade crafts.
