Whether you're on the hunt for a new uniform or just scrolling while your toast burns, here are the latest job listings in and around Wells that don't require selling your soul to LinkedIn.
It's a mixed bag this week: care, kettlebells, catering and classrooms, with a side of Mars (not the fun-sized kind, sorry). Read on and see what might keep the bills at bay.
Care, with or without the cape
Barchester Healthcare needs a bank housekeeping assistant to keep one of their local care homes clean, safe and vaguely zen-like. It's a flexible role with laundry and cleaning duties, ideal if you have a caring streak and don't mind the occasional whiff of Dettol. Meanwhile, they're also after a regional senior care assistant to swan about a 20-mile patch, checking in on elderly folks and leading on care plans. Own car (and patience) essential.

In kitchens and near them
If your CV includes the phrase "can wash up without sulking," there's a kitchen porter gig going in Wells. You'll be helping chefs, keeping things spotless, and enjoying perks like staff meals and paid breaks. Fancy more responsibility? There's also a chef role going nearby — similar perks, more slicing and dicing. If you're chef-curious but not quite Gordon Ramsay, ASK Italian has "chef opportunities" from pizza-flipping to sousing, with up to £15.25/hour plus tips.
Fit for purpose
Fusion Lifestyle is clearly trying to corner the market on midweek motivation. They're after several fitness instructors in Wells: one for strength classes on Tuesday evenings, one for yoga (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays), and one for spin and circuits on Saturday mornings. If you own a whistle and can fake cheerfulness at 8am, this might be your calling.

School days, school daze
Zen Educate wants teaching assistants for primary and secondary schools in Wells. You'll help with literacy, numeracy, and wrangling the future generation into something resembling order. Alternatively, if you prefer turning up, teaching and escaping before the staff room politics kick in, they also need supply teachers.
And finally, a job with actual Mars bars (sort of)
Mars Petcare, out in Castle Cary, is hiring a maintenance planner. It pays a decent salary (£39.6k–£45.4k), comes with corporate perks like gym membership and healthcare, and involves scheduling fixes to pet food machines. Ideal if you're organised, spreadsheet-inclined, and don't mind the smell of kibble.
