Wells In Bloom is more than just a competition; it's a homage to our city's passionate gardeners, who transform everything from quaint patios and sprawling allotments to expansive private gardens and community spaces into verdant oases. Whether you're a novice with newfound gardening zeal or a seasoned pro with years of soil-tending experience, your contribution is eagerly awaited.

The competition prides itself on its inclusive spirit, inviting entries across a wide array of categories to ensure there's a spot for every type of gardener. Returning participants are especially encouraged to showcase the evolution of their gardens, highlighting the perpetual growth and change that characterizes our natural endeavours.

Reflecting on last year's event, despite the whims of the weather, Wells' gardens emerged more vibrant and varied than ever, much to the delight of the judges. From meticulously manicured lawns to wild, whimsical plots, the diversity on display was unparalleled, with additional accolades for gardens demonstrating a commitment to wildlife preservation and eco-friendly gardening practices.

A highlight from last year was the award for the Best Wildlife Friendly Garden, an accolade that celebrated a garden's open-door policy to nature's critters, big and small. This winning garden exemplified how simple practices like eschewing pesticides and letting nature take its course can create a haven for wildlife.

With judging scheduled for June, the anticipation is building towards the awards ceremony set for Friday, October 4, where the community will gather to spotlight the exceptional contributions and crown the winners of this year's Wells In Bloom.
