The ballroom of Wells Town Hall is poised to echo with the sounds of unity and music on Saturday, 16th March, for a concert dedicated to supporting Ukraine.

The event boasts a diverse musical lineup, headlined by the remarkable Olha Hornykh, a Ukrainian refugee whose extraordinary vocal talent has not only found a home in the West Country but also led to an audition with the prestigious Royal Opera House in London.

"We have promised for some time to put on a fundraising concert for Ukraine," said Merv Colenutt, one of the organisers, "and as soon as we heard Ohla at the Kevin Westwood Concert in January we knew this was the right time. "I have never seen so many in an audience with tears in their eyes. This will be a very special evening."

The concert is aimed at raising essential funds for Ukrainian refugees, who continue to live amidst uncertainty and concern for their loved ones amid the ongoing conflict. The relentless aggression faced by their homeland underscores the critical need for global support and solidarity.

Tim Pitman, known for his incredible versatility spanning pop, rock, and opera, will feature prominently in the concert. "This promises to be the most unforgettable show we've ever put on," Pitman stated, anticipating an evening of powerful performances, including a dramatic duet with Olha.

The classical band Encanto will also grace the lineup, known for their spellbinding arrangements and compelling performances.

Doors will open at 7:30 pm for an 8:00 pm start, with refreshments available at the bar. Tickets are priced at £20 and are available for purchase at the Town Hall Reception (cash only) or by contacting Merv Colenutt directly at 07710743642.
