As the festive season approaches, Wells Foodbank is reaching out to the community with an urgent appeal for advent calendar donations.

Residents of Wells are encouraged to contribute to this cause by donating advent calendars. Donations are welcomed at the Wells Foodbank in Rowdens Road, which is open for drop-offs from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

This initiative is part of the foodbank's broader effort to support families during the holidays, a time that can be particularly challenging for those facing financial difficulties.

The Wells community has always shown tremendous support for the foodbank, and this appeal for advent calendars is another opportunity for residents to come together and make a positive impact in the lives of those in need.

Individuals in need must first acquire a Foodbank voucher, which can be obtained from various local agencies, including the Citizens Advice Bureau, social workers, job centres, doctor's surgeries, local churches, health agencies, housing officers, and local schools. Food parcels are available for collection on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm at the Foodbank's new address, the Old Pumphouse, Rowdens Road, Wells BA5 1TU. These parcels provide three days' worth of nutritious meals for each household member and include toiletries. The Foodbank also endeavours to meet special dietary needs and provide for pets when possible.
