Work by a cleaning firm from Wells to clean out the home of a horder while he's in rehab have hit a major snag.

The Sleek Easy Clean offers hazard and specialist cleaning services, and was approached for help by a local man in crisis.

The man lost his family in a car crash and is suffering with emotional health problems that have led to addiction.

As his mental health spiralled, so did his ability to care for himself and his home. He approached Sleek Easy Clean for help, while he went into rehab to try and turn his life around.

The company launched a fund-raiser to help cover the costs of the clean and have carried out some work on the property.

But as the work got underway, the firm hit a major problem in the bathroom.

"We've been making great progress.," said Laura Summers, who runs Sleek and Easy.

"Unfortunately during our clear-up, we've sadly encountered more work required to get this house ready for our client when he returns home from rehab.

"We have faced more obstacles with the bathroom, walls and plumbing - basically the whole floor has caved in there is no plumbing at all."

This means the team have had to up the target for their Gofundme, to cover the extra costs of the work.

"We've let the client know that he's not going to be moving back when he hoped - it's now looking like another two weeks' work," she said.

"He's taking the massive leap to get help, he's going into rehab and he has asked us to be a part of this journey by helping him with a clean space to return to when he starts his new chapter in sobriety.

"He needs our help to turn his life around and we just want to prove to him people are here to help and he's not by himself."

If you're willing and able to help, you can find the Gofundme here.
