Residents of Wells are being encouraged to have their say in a new Climate Adaptation Plan designed to help the city prepare for the impacts of climate change.

The plan is being developed as part of Somerset Wildlife Trust's Act to Adapt programme, which is supporting communities across the county to tackle climate challenges through collaborative events and public consultation. The initiative is funded by Somerset Rivers Authority and aims to provide localised solutions tailored to the needs of each community.

The plan for Wells is being shaped through community workshops and consultations, allowing local people to share their concerns, ideas, and priorities for adapting to extreme weather, flooding risks, and other climate-related issues.

A spokesperson for the adaptation team said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Wells to come together and create a plan that will help safeguard the city's future against the challenges of climate change. Community input is vital to ensure the plan reflects local needs and priorities."

Residents can also contribute their thoughts online by completing a short survey here.
