Wells is set to echo with world-class music once again as the Sound of Wells festival returns in May 2026.

The five-day celebration will take over the cathedral from Wednesday, 6 May to Sunday, 10 May — blending choral concerts, lunchtime recitals, services and a live organ soundtrack to a silent film.

Wells Cathedral Choir, Chamber Choir, Choristers, Vicars Choral, Youth Choir and Song Squad will all perform, alongside special guests. Highlights include Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, a United States semi‑quincentenary evensong, a new musical commission, and a Charles Wood centenary finale.

All performances take place in the cathedral, with further details and ticket info due in early 2026.
