Residents at Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells have been getting into the Christmas spirit with baking and floral workshops.
The festivities began on Stir-Up Sunday, when residents and staff joined head chef Simon to make the home's Christmas cake. Each took a turn stirring the fruit cake mixture before decorating it with icing, edible decorations and a miniature Santa.
Later in the week, florist Freya from Whisper & Wild led a Christmas flower-arranging session for residents, family and friends. Eucalyptus and seasonal blooms were arranged throughout the home, creating a festive scent and atmosphere.
More activities are planned throughout December, including music and parties.
Meg Cleal, general manager at Crandon Springs, said: "Christmas cake has long been a symbol of togetherness and celebration, and ours has certainly been made with plenty of festive cheer… The floral displays are absolutely beautiful, and really add to the warm Christmas atmosphere in our beautiful home."
