Urgent repairs will start at Wells bus station on Monday, 17 November as Somerset Council moves to fix damaged stands around the bus bays.
The week‑long works are being carried out in two phases and aim to improve safety for passengers and drivers at the Princes Road transport hub. Buses will continue running as normal throughout.
The council is working with operator First West of England to minimise disruption while its contractor gets the job done.
Councillor Richard Wilkins, Somerset Council's Lead Member for Transport and Waste Services, said: "The team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and efficiently as possible – this is important work to ensure the bus station is safe for passengers and operating staff." He added: "We are extremely grateful to people for their support and understanding while this work is done."
The station is a key stop for local and regional routes, linking Wells with Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, and further afield. Temporary signage may be used during the works to guide passengers.
Travel updates will be shared on the @Travelsomerset social media accounts. Problems can be reported directly to the council via its "Report a problem on the road" service.
