In a move to brighten the daily commute for its residents, Wells City Council is exploring the possibility of introducing a cosy café within the bus station's waiting room.

This initiative aims to provide a much-needed uplift to the area, described by many as bleak, by offering bus passengers a warm place to enjoy teas, coffees, and light snacks such as biscuits and cake while waiting for their rides.

After thorough discussion among council members, it was decided that the Town Clerk would engage with Somerset Council and First Bus to determine the feasibility of this welcoming proposal.

The potential addition of a café is seen as a significant step towards enhancing the user experience at the bus station, making public transport waits more comfortable and enjoyable for the community.
