A working group is aiming to enhance the experience for cyclists in Wells while informing the public of the positives riding a bike can have in reducing carbon levels.

The Wells Bike Working Group meets on a regular basis and is made up of an expanding membership who have an interest in cycling and its impact on the environment.

It is looking at the possibility of:

- Increasing the number and spread of bike racks in the city.

- Improving signage for cyclists.

- Upgrading bike routes through the city.

- Working with Mendip and Somerset councils to link communities with bike paths (Wells to Shepton/Cheddar - The Strawberry Line).

"If you share our vision then please get in touch and see if you can come along to the next Bike Working Group meeting," said chairman Stewart Cursley.
