The Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is saying goodbye to one of its key members, PCSO 9327 Samuel White, who has served the community with distinction since January 2019.

After more than five years of dedicated service, PCSO White is set to embark on a new chapter in his career.

Throughout his tenure, PCSO White has been at the forefront of several community initiatives, most notably pioneering the 'Coppers Vs Kids' football tournaments.

His efforts have contributed significantly to building stronger bonds between law enforcement and the youth, addressing challenges faced by troubled youngsters, and supporting rural communities throughout the region.

In 2023, his heroic actions were recognised nationally when he received the prestigious Royal Humane Society Award for saving a man's life in 2021. This accolade is a testament to his dedication and bravery, highlighting his commitment to the safety and well-being of the Wells community.

PCSO White's colleagues and the many people he has impacted during his service are grateful for his contributions. They are confident he will continue to excel in his law enforcement career. As he prepares to return to the Mendips as a Police Constable, the Wells NPT and the community wish him the best of luck
