There are scheduled to be temporary traffic lights along the A39 from Wells to Polsham this week.

From Monday (June 15) to Friday (June 19) there should be rolling temporary traffic lights from the Strawberry Way Roundabout in Wells through to Polsham but not around any junctions.

The lights are set to be used to enable Truespeed to blow cables through ducts, splice cables and clear blockages, including excavation where necessary.

Truespeed's other work to lay new telecommunications ducts in Tudway Close and Ken Close are scheduled to be completed by Monday and Tuesday (June 16) respectively.

Truespeed is also continuing to lay ducts and fibre optic cables in Burcott Road, Bekynton Avenue and Kings Castle Road, and these works are scheduled to continue until June 24.

Other roadworks in the Wells area this week include:

There are set to be temporary traffic lights on the A371 through Croscombe on Wednesday (June 17) for Bristol Water works to take place.

On Tuesday, there are scheduled to be temporary traffic lights on the B3139 in Dulcote so Western Power Distribution can undertake tree trimming.

Temporary traffic lights are then expected on the B3139 through Dulcote for five weeks from Wednesday for Wales and West Utilities to replace a metal gas main with a plastic one.

From Monday to Wednesday, Wales and West Utilities are scheduled to be cutting off a service in the Market Place.

From Monday to June 26, Western Power Distribution are set to be undertaking cable works in Sheldon Drive.

The work by Wales and West Utilities to lay a new service in Southover is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday.

Finally, the scaffolding permit for 10 Sadler Street is set to run out on Monday, and the one at 5 Priory Road should end on Thursday (June 18).
