The first trailer for the new Dungeons and Dragons movie has been released - but does it feature Wells?

By Emma Dance 22nd Jul 2022

The first trailer for the new Dungeons and Dragons movie, which was partly filmed in Wells, has been released.

The film's full title is Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, andit is not the first adaptation of the RPG, with a version being made in 2000, along with two direct-to-video films in 2005 and 2012.

As part of San Diego Comic-Con the trailer was shown and members of the cast came to discuss it.

The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Hugh Grant, and will be released theatrically on March 3, 2023, by Paramount Pictures.

The filming in Wells took place in June last year around the Bishop's Palace and Cathedral Green.

Although it's not entirely clear, it looks like Wells might feature briefly in the trailer. In the final moments of the trailer, Chris Pine leaps through a gateway – which looks like it could be Wells – and begins playing the lute.

Chris Pine, who is known for playing James T. Kirk in the rebooted Star Trek films, as well as appearing in Wonder Woman, Into the Woods, Unstoppable and Hell or High Water, was one of the actors spotted in Wells during the filming last summer.

Young actress Chloe Coleman, who is known for appearing in the TV series Big Little Lies, was also spotted in the city.
