Firefighters in Wells are rolling up their sleeves for a great cause, turning their hoses and expertise towards giving your car a sparkling clean finish.

This weekend, the Wells Fire Station transforms into a hub of charity and shine, hosting a car wash to support "Singing for the Brain," a vital community initiative for individuals and families affected by dementia.

For a donation, you can treat your vehicle to a top-notch jet wash by our brave firefighters. Every penny raised will go directly to "Singing for the Brain," a group that provides an inclusive and supportive environment for those experiencing memory loss, their carers, and younger people with additional needs. This wonderful initiative offers activities such as singing with piano accompaniment, playing instruments, and creative music-making, all designed to foster a sense of community and support.

Event Details:

  • Location: Wells Fire Station
  • Date: Saturday, April 14
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

By participating, not only will you drive away with a cleaner car, but you'll also contribute to a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of those dealing with dementia and their families.

"Singing for the Brain" meets regularly in Wells and Glastonbury, providing a creative outlet and a break for carers and families. The Wells group meets at Seager Hall on Union Street every Wednesday from 11:15 to 12:45, while the Glastonbury group gathers at St John's Community Hub on Thursdays from 10:30 to 12:00.

With a nominal fee of £5 for their sessions, including refreshments, the group aims to be accessible to all who may benefit.
