Supermarket worker assaulted in Wells: police seek assistance identifying suspect

A supermarket employee in Wells has sustained minor facial injuries following an assault at the Lidl store on Strawberry Way around 13:10 on Saturday, 3 June.

The incident occurred when the worker confronted an unidentified male customer, leading to the customer knocking the employee to the floor and kicking him in the face, according to Avon and Somerset Police.

Thankfully, the victim did not require hospital treatment.

Police are actively seeking the assailant, described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5ft 10-11ins tall, and wearing a tracksuit, baseball cap, and rucksack. Authorities have released CCTV images to aid in identifying the man and are requesting public assistance in the investigation.

Those who witnessed the incident or recognise the man in the images are urged to ring 101, quoting reference number 5223129936, or to complete the online appeals form available on the police website.
