The Elim Connect Centre in Wells remains open in line with the most recent Government guidance dated March 23 - Community centres remain open.

The Outreach team are still delivering vital services for those who are homeless and rough sleeping.

The Dairy House, Evergreen House and Housing First projects are still continuing to care for the residents and tenants.

The Elim Connect Centre staff team in these roles are considered Key Workers along with those in the NHS and others.

Connect Centre, the building at the corner of Portway and Chamberlain Street, remains open for the most vulnerable delivering high priority need support.

Opening hours are changing, during this time, to 10am to 3pm. Call the office on 01749 677097 to speak to one of the team during these hours. For out of hours emergencies or to arrange a food donation drop-off call 07930 818328.

On Wednesdays from noon to 2pm a hot meal delivery or takeaway service will be provided from the Connect Centre.

This is provided for the most vulnerable in our community, including families who receive free school meals, the elderly or frail who can't get to the shops, those who are isolated for long periods of time and so forth.

It will run as follows:

  • If you need a small food parcel or hot meal delivered, call the office.
  • Limited numbers of people will be allowed in the building at any one time as to ensure social distancing guidance.
  • A maximum of two hot meals to be taken away or delivered.
  • There are clear markers on the floor for everyone to stand two metres apart.
  • Deliveries will be left at the door. There must be no contact between volunteers and those at home receiving a delivery.
  • Delivery drivers will be wearing gloves and regularly washing their hands.

Within the government guidelines places of worship are able to provide a room for individuals to come and pray.

Elim are making one of their rooms a designated room for prayer. Only one person at a time will be able to pray and it will only be accessible during current opening times of 10am to 3pm.

Call the office 01749 677097 to check if it's free. Wash your hands on entrance of the building and before leaving.
