Wells is set to host a laughter-filled bank holiday weekend with the return of the Wells Comedy Festival from 24-26 May 2024.

Making headlines for this eighth edition are some of the UK's most celebrated comedians: James Acaster, John Kearns, and Jessica Fostekew.

James Acaster is scheduled to perform an extended version of his show 'Hecklers Welcome,' which encourages audience interruptions.

Double Edinburgh Comedy Award winner and 'Taskmaster' favourite, John Kearns, will bring his critically acclaimed show 'The Varnishing Days' to the festival. Not to be left out, Jessica Fostekew, of QI and Live at the Apollo fame, will present her brand-new stand-up show 'Mettle' as part of a national tour.

Beyond the headliners, the Friday and Saturday Night Galas will also return for the 2024 edition. These galas are set to feature a range of festival acts whose names have yet to be announced.

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday Night Galas are currently on sale. Those wanting to catch James Acaster, John Kearns, and Jessica Fostekew can purchase tickets starting tomorrow (Friday 27 October) at 10am.

Additional acts for the festival are expected to be announced soon, so comedy fans have much to look forward to in the coming months.
