St John Street in Wells to close for over a month for gas mains works

St John Street in Wells to close for over a month for gas mains works

A key road in Wells is set to be closed for more than a month to allow for essential mains replacement works.

Somerset Council has confirmed that St John Street will be shut to all traffic from the junction with Priory Road to the junction with Southover. The closure is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 22, and will remain in place until Friday, May 23.

The works will be carried out by Wales and West Utilities and will require the road to be closed 24 hours a day. The total stretch affected is approximately 106 metres.
