Nurture Veterinary Hospital in Wells has been awarded the highest possible status by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), becoming the city's only accredited veterinary hospital.
The Westfield Road practice - a sponsor of Wells Nub News - is now a Tier 3 RCVS Small Animal Veterinary Hospital — confirming it meets top standards for complex care, equipment, and 24/7 staffing.
The award follows a detailed inspection assessing surgery, diagnostics, clinical procedures, and staff training. The practice was also recognised for its approach to sustainability and staff wellbeing.
Founder Charlie Moore said the accreditation underlined Nurture's commitment to safety and high-level care, adding that pets are never left unattended overnight.
Nurture Wells provides full emergency and critical care services on site, unlike many other local vets that rely on external providers out of hours. The Weston site's clients also have access to the Wells hospital overnight, with shared records and rotating staff.
