Elvis night to raise cash for Wells carnival club
By Laura Linham 6th Jul 2026
An Elvis tribute night is coming to Street this September to raise money for Globe Carnival Club.
Wells-based singer Harry James will bring his 1950s Elvis show to The Loft Lounge and Bar on Sunday, 6 September. Doors open at 5 pm and tickets cost £10.
The fundraiser will feature Harry James as Elvis, with support from group One Night Stand. The event is being held in support of Globe Carnival Club.
Harry, who is based in Wells, is building a name as a young Elvis tribute artist focused on the King's early rock 'n' roll era. His act channels the 1950s sound, style and stage swagger, with slicked-back hair, vintage looks and the kind of hip-shaking energy that made early Elvis dangerous to furniture and respectable society.
He made his debut at the European Elvis Championships Youth Competition in Birmingham in January 2025, before earning a headline spot with Sundial Promotions for 2026.
In 2025, Harry was also invited to join Emilio Santoro on stage during sold-out shows at Weston Playhouse. He has since shared stages with Elvis tribute acts from around the world and has become a regular at UK Elvis tribute competition venues.
Harry is now performing across the UK, including support slots with Louis Brown at some of his UK theatre shows.
Organisers said the night will be a chance to enjoy a full tribute show while supporting Globe Carnival Club. The club is part of Somerset's carnival tradition, with fundraisers helping keep entries, builds and performances moving through the year.
The event takes place at The Loft Lounge and Bar, Leigh Road, Street, on Sunday, 6 September. Tickets cost £10 and enquiries can be made by emailing [email protected].
