Wells is gearing up for an extraordinary celebration of local culture and music with the Somerset Sounds mini festival at Cedars Hall, scheduled from Thursday, 18th to Saturday, 20th April 2024.

The festival promises to be a vibrant showcase of the unique and diverse sounds of Somerset, featuring music, literature, and the remarkable achievements of the county's most adventurous and creative individuals.

Headlining the event are The Wurzels, a band synonymous with the Scrumpy and Western genre, a blend of music known for its humorous double entendres, parodies, and comical folk style – a perfect match for cider enthusiasts.

With a career spanning over five decades, The Wurzels are set to entertain the audience with a set that includes all their hits, stories, and jokes, drawing from their experience of playing over 100 sell-out shows and festivals annually.

Their West Country twist on the Kaiser Chiefs' hit 'Ruby' and a hip-hop version of 'Combine Harvester' are among the crowd-pleasers expected to feature in their performance.

Supporting The Wurzels is Razzomo, a dynamic folk duo known for their energetic performances of Balkan, Klezmer, and Celtic folk music. Attendees can look forward to experiencing Razzomo's unique renditions and lively stage presence, adding to the festival's eclectic mix.

Somerset Sounds is more than just a music festival; it's a celebration of Somerset's rich cultural tapestry, bringing together music, the written word, and the achievements of its residents. T

This new mini festival is poised to become a highlight in Wells' cultural calendar, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
