The Somerset Poppies are set to return to The Bishop's Palace in Wells from 6th to 17th November 2023.

The installation will be displayed in the Quiet Garden between 10am and 4pm each day, offering a solemn space for reflection.

The project first debuted in 2018, marking 100 years since the end of the First World War.

During the initial display, 7,986 poppies graced the Croquet Lawn, each created by a local school child. Every poppy represented a Somerset serviceman who lost his life in the war.

The poppies were subsequently sold for charity, but around 2,000 remained at The Bishop's Palace, thanks to the generosity of The Somerset Poppies project and its leader, local school teacher Dan Vidler.

Visitors can view the Somerset Poppies with any valid entry ticket to The Bishop's Palace and Gardens, including The Bishop's Palace Admission Ticket and Membership.
