Sara Pascoe among first big names announced for 2025 Wells Comedy Festival

Sara Pascoe has been revealed as one of the first headline acts for the 2025 Wells Comedy Festival, set to return for its ninth year over the bank holiday weekend from 23-25 May.
The festival, which brings dozens of the UK's leading comedy names to England's smallest city, will also feature performances from Amy Gledhill, Jessica Fostekew, and Kemah Bob.
Pascoe, known for Taskmaster, Live at the Apollo, and The Great British Sewing Bee, will return to the festival with her new show I Am A Strange Gloop. Festival favourite Rhys James (Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo) is also making a return, alongside Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club and Guessable star Kemah Bob.
Other big names confirmed include multiple Edinburgh Comedy Award nominees such as Catherine Bohart (Live at the Apollo, The Mash Report), Jessica Fostekew (QI, Travel Man), Chris Cantrill (The Mash Report, Harry Hill's Clubnite), and Mat Ewins (8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown).
This year's festival will also welcome both 2024 Edinburgh Comedy Award winners: Best Comedy Show winner Amy Gledhill (The Jonathan Ross Show, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown) and Best Newcomer Joe Kent-Walters, both bringing their acclaimed shows to Wells.
Alongside the solo performances, the festival's popular gala shows are back, with four events featuring surprise line-ups of comics from across the weekend's bill.
Tickets for all shows are now on sale at www.wellscomfest.com.
