Plans to build two homes at Bekynton Avenue in Wells are withdrawn

A planning application to Mendip District Council for two homes to be built in Bekynton Avenue, Wells, has been withdrawn.

The application had been for two semi-detached two-bedroom homes on land next to 32 Bekynton Avenue, at the junction with Bedford Road.

Planning permission had been refused for three new homes on the site back in 2017, and now this resubmission has been withdrawn by agent Ian Collier Architects, of Cullompton in Devon.

Planning applications received in the Wells area this week by Mendip District Council planners include:

Replacement of an existing external ATM sign with a new external ATM sign at 1 Market Place, Wells, is wanted by Mr Ben French.

Loft conversion with rear dormer and velux rooflights at Apple Rock, Old Ditch, Westbury-sub-Mendip, has been applied for by Mr and Mrs Knight.

Erection of single storey dwelling with wheelchair access at 30 Wells Road, Wookey Hole, is wanted by Mr and Mrs Robert and Linda Weare.

Alterations to existing glazing on east and west elevations, replacement of structural glass link with installation of glazed door to east elevation and internal modifications to create utility room at Ash Tree Farm, Old Ditch, Westbury-sub-Mendip, have been applied for by Mr Jonathan Jones.

Application to remove condition 18 (occupancy restriction) of planning approval 2017/2166/FUL (reinstatement of residential use of house involving construction of new roof, conversion of barn to ancillary residential accommodation, part re-building of barn to office use, formation of new access and construction of garage/store building, as amended by revised drawings received 03/10/2017 and 11/10/2017) at Barrington House, Old Wells Road, Croscombe, has been made by Mrs Hannah Smith.

Application for outline planning permission with some matters reserved for the erection of two detached dwellings and garaging with details of access and layout at Rock House, Old Frome Road to Underhill, Gurney Slade, has been made by Mr A Lawrence.

Application for approval of planning obligation details (Schedule 5 Paragraph 2.2 of S106) relating to the School Maintenance Scheme of the school site from approval 2017/0022/FUL on land at Wookey Hole Road, Wells, by Bovis Homes has been refused.

Extension of existing hardstanding, siting of shelter and construction of a menage on land opposite Honeymead Farm, Castle Lane, Wookey, by Mrs Sarah Oatley has been approved.

Application to vary condition 2 (plans list) of planning approval 2019/0673/HSE (proposed extension to garage including raising the ridge line) to use the large space in the roof to create an annexe for a family member and amend the ground floor layout at Bathway Farm, Bathway, Chewton Mendip, by Mr and Mrs Martin and Tina Spiller and Veater has been approved.

Single storey rear extension at Havenwood, Station Mead, Chilcompton, by Mr and Mrs L Gosden has been approved.

Demolish existing garage and erect two-storey side extension, single storey front porch and single storey rear extension at 23 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Wells, by Mr George Marchant has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 3 (surface water drainage system) on planning consent 2019/1783/REM at Wookey Farm, Monks Ford, Wookey, by Mr Ian Davies has been approved.
