Plans submitted to turn Wells garage into living space

A planning application has been submitted to Mendip District Council to turn a garage in central Wells into a "living space".

The application for the conversion of a garage into living/studio space at Old Stables, North Liberty, Wells, has been submitted by Christian Hilton.

If approved, the proposal would see the existing garage/storage space at Old Stables converted into a habitable studio room with living space, including replacing the existing cement tile roof with a slate roof.

Other planning applications in the Wells area submitted to Mendip District Council this week include:

Proposed slurry store at Butts Quarry Farm, Nordrach Lane, Priddy, has been applied for by Mr Chris Lasbury.

Construction of a two storey side extension with garage and associated works at Glenwood, Bakers Lane, Chilcompton, is wanted by Mr Rob Bath.

Erection of a single storey side and rear extension at 22 Manor Court, Easton, has been applied for by Mr Nick Beason.

Erection of sun room at 50A Portway, Wells, is wanted by Mr Derek Nice.

Planning applications in the Wells area decided by Mendip District Council planners this week include:

T4 - ash - reduce overall by 40 per cent - Tree Preservation Order M1187 at Ashbourn, Carters Way, Chilcompton, by Mr Giles Harrod has been approved.

Erection of a greenhouse and garden shed at East Vicarage, St Thomas Street, Wells, by Professor William Armitage has been approved.

Installation of a blue plaque to the front external wall at 69 High Street, Wells, by Mr Philip Welch has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 8 (risk assessment) and 11 (minimum Dwelling Emission Rate) on planning consent 2017/3014/FUL at Communication Station, Hill Farm Road, Priddy, by Mr Graham Aldridge has been approved.

Erection of an agricultural building for storing fodder and machinery at Scarlet Withies, Worminster Lane, North Wootton, by Mr and Mrs P and S Uphill has been approved.
