In a remarkable show of solidarity and humanitarian effort, Katie Hines and Ed Chalmers have embarked on a significant journey to support Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict.

Partnering with the Driving Ukraine team, they have committed to a three-day, 1,318-mile drive across Europe, aiming to deliver a vehicle directly to the Ukrainian frontline.

The invasion of Ukraine, now nearing its two-year mark, has seen Driving Ukraine rise to the challenge, providing over 70 vehicles for frontline efforts since the war began. Their mission is detailed further on their website, www.DrivingUkraine.org.

Katie and Ed, motivated by a deep-seated desire to contribute, are now part of this crucial initiative. In addition to their journey, they aim to raise £1,800. This fundraising effort will cover the cost of transporting the vehicle from Oxfordshire, England, to Lviv, Ukraine, and further to the Eastern Ukrainian frontline. The funds will also support vehicle modifications necessary for frontline conditions, including Mud Terrain tyres and a camouflage paint job.

Katie Hines said: "This mission is dedicated to delivering aid and vehicles directly to the Ukrainian frontline, fulfilling roles such as first response and evacuation support. We're inspired to act in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, aiming to provide essential aid and support. This mission is a testament to the dedication and compassion of individuals uniting for a common cause.

"It goes beyond borders and directly impacts the lives of those facing adversity on the Ukrainian frontline. The aid we deliver includes vital supplies and the deployment of vehicles that can make a significant difference in emergency response efforts."

Both Katie and Ed have strong ties to the local community, with Ed being a lifelong local with family roots in Wells, and Katie having attended school in the area.
